How to service the front seat armrest on Lincoln Town Car?

The service process for front seat armrest begins by taking away the two pivot screw covers. A vehicle armrest set in vertical position requires pushing its left-side locking tab to reposition the armrest impact locking pin. Detach the pivot screws from both sides followed by removing the seat armrest. The seat armrest lid removal process starts with opening the driver side latch button followed by resetting the check lever which allows refastening of the two latch buttons then closing the lid part-way. Users can uninstall the seat armrest lid assembly by pressing the passenger side latch button. Installation requires users to press the check lever one time to reset the latch mechanism and next pressing the passenger side latch button. Put the seat armrest lid on the passenger side of the base and guide it toward the driver side to achieve maximum engagement. After engaging the check lever maintain pressure on it to activate the driver side latch button thus creating a "pop" noise and complete lid engagement before releasing both controls. Secure the seat armrest lid by dropping it at a 45-degree angle after releasing the check lever and driver side latch button. Proof of correct retention involves opening and closing the lid thrice using each side to verify proper fit. Place the seat armrest into position and install the pivot screws together with their covers.
