Start the fuel tank filler pipe service and repair by establishing safety measures that include maintaining distance from fuel components when smoking and having open flames and releasing pressure from the fuel system to stop accidental sprays. Begin procedures by disconnecting battery ground cable and draining the entire fuel content from the tank. The retainer ring faces danger when you remove screws because any damage might stop the filler cap from creating a proper seal. Raising the vehicle enables technicians to remove the tire-wheel assembly from the left-hand rear position. Disconnect the vapor recirculation tube connector and remove it through the blunt-end dogpoint screw. Keep the end of the filler pipe away from the grommet and check valve while taking necessary steps to gain better access by loosening the tank strap. Put the fuel tank filler pipe into the tank but turn it counter-clockwise by 1/2 turn before removing it. Petroleum lubrication should be applied to the fuel tank filler pipe end before installing the pipe with a 1/2 turn clockwise rotation. The dogpoint screw should have its blunt end inserted next to re-attaching the vapor recirculation hose before lowering the car to install screws with 4 o'clock position strap attachment.

Start procedures by removing the battery ground cable followed by fuel tank draining. You should remove screws in a way that protects the retainer ring from damage which may cause the filler cap to fail its sealing function. Lift your vehicle before taking away the left-rear wheel assembly together with its tire. Disconnect the vapor recirculation tube connector then remove the screw while using the dogpoint screw with a blunt end instead. The fuel tank filler pipe requires insertion into the tank to clear its way before turning it counterclockwise by half a turn. The tank strap should be loosened slightly if more tank removal space becomes required. Oil the fuel tank filler pipe tip with petroleum then turn it clockwise by half a turn before attaching its screw with a dogpoint design. After reconnecting the vapor recirculation hose you should lower the vehicle and install screws while maintaining the strap for the cap at the four o'clock position.
