2001 Ford Escort A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the A/C Condenser on 2001 Ford Escort?
A: Start the HVAC condenser service by performing a refrigerant discharge and recovery process. First disconnect the A/C manifold and tube suction side spring lock coupling by removing the bolt while plugging all ports using suitable stoppers to avoid dirt and moisture contamination. Proceed by disconnecting the front condenser to evaporator line spring lock coupling and close all ports with plugs. Starting with the LH radiator upper support bracket nuts and later the RH radiator upper support bracket bolts needs removal. Begin by removing the pin-type retainers together with the upper radiator air deflector system followed by securing the A/C condenser core mounting brackets then lastly take out the A/C condenser core. For installation follow the reverse order of removal steps while servicing the new A/C condenser core with PAG Compressor Oil YN-12-C or equivalent to Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
