How to service the EGR valve on 2001 Ford Escort?

In order to service the EGR valve, apply pressure to the nut connecting the EGR valve to the exhaust manifold tube by loosening the nut beneath, unscrew the upper vacuum line and lose the two securing bolts. To reinstall them follow these steps in reverse and you should always install a new EGR valve gasket to make sure it has been sealed.
