2006 Ford Crown Victoria Dipstick Tube Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Engine Oil Dipstick Tube on 2006 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: A vehicle placed on a hoist in neutral position needs to begin all dip stick tube and dip stick engine oil service and repair tasks. The service should start only after powering down the fire suppression system when present in the vehicle. First remove the LH exhaust manifold then unfasten the bolt of the oil level indicator tube and secure it with 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) torque. Engine oil should be used as a lubricant to coat both the O-ring seal and the engine block mating surface of the oil level indicator tube before service to prevent leakage. During installation keep the O-ring seal both correctly posed along with its edges situated properly on the indicator tube. To reinstall the tube you should follow the reversal of the removal steps while using the O-ring seal. A fire suppression system present in the vehicle needs to be repowered after the installation process is complete.
