2007 Lincoln Town Car Crankshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2007 Lincoln Town Car?
A: The service of crankshaft position (CKP) sensor requires the vehicle to be set to neutral gear and positioned on a hoist. You should begin service by disconnecting the ground cable of the battery before removing the A/C compressor drive belt from its pulley. Disconnection of two electrical connectors occurs first for the A/C compressor field coil and the CKP sensor. The first step involves untightening the nut while also removing the wiring harness clips. The three A/C compressor bolts need only to be loosened until the compressor drops down one inch for accessing the CKP sensor. You should disconnect the bolt holding the CKP sensor in position. The installation process should begin by following the exact opposite order of removal steps while tightening the CKP sensor bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) and the A/C compressor bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) and the wiring harness clips to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
