How to service and repair the hood latch on 2009 Lincoln Town Car?

In order to service the hood latch, remove the pin-type retainers and the radiator sight shield. Unscrew the hood ajar switch connector and label the latch position and then remove the bolts. Uncouple the release cable and take off the latch. Installation Reverse the process and ensure that the latch fits.
