2011 Lincoln MKT TPMS Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Activate TPMS Sensors on 2011 Lincoln MKT?
A: The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors require activation through an ignition switch set to ON position. Place the Tire Pressure Monitor Activation Tool on the outside wall of the left front tire by the tire valve stem. Every successful tire pressure sensor response triggers both a beeping noise and a flashing green light with the tool but the feedback could possibly be absent at times. You should drive the vehicle to turn wheels by at least one-fourth of a full turn before making another attempt to activate the unresponsive sensor. For sensors that do not act when tried multiple times, first check for the availability of a customer activation tool. Otherwise you can activate the sensors using the vehicle door openings. To activate the sensor press the test button of the Tire Pressure Monitor Activation Tool at minimum two times. Activate the sensor two times by repeating this procedure for all additional wheels. Contact the Symptom Chart for diagnostic procedures after checking and successfully activating all TPMS sensors because the indicator continues displaying illumination.
