How to service and repair the Instrument Cluster temperature gauge on Ford Escort?

Service or repair of the temperature gauge begins with removing the instrument cluster mask screws and taking off both the mask and lens. The next step is to take out the Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge by being cautious not to move the needle to prevent damage. The service continues with removal of the fuel gauge and speedometer along with the tachometer (if installed). Use the tang to release the instrument cluster gauge amplifier from behind the cluster before removing miniature bulbs. Remove all the gauge contact clips from the instrument cluster rear by joining together the clip ends and extracting them manually before disposing them safely but taking care not to harm the printed circuit on the instrument cluster. Carefully detach the instrument cluster printed circuit as the last step. To reinstall the components follow exactly the opposite sequence of the disassembly steps.
