How to Service and Repair the Trunk Latch on Ford Escort?

To fix the trunk/liftgate latch, disconnect battery ground cable, unscrew latch cover bolt and unscrew door ajar switch and door remote release motor connectors. Unscrew the lock actuator rod and take off the latch. To install, undo the de-installation steps.
