The beginning of Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir servicing requires disconnecting respectively the battery ground cable and engine sub-harness electrical connectors. Set the bolted-down engine sub-harness assembly to the side after removing its bolt. Before proceeding it is necessary to remove the bolts retaining the windshield washer reservoir which enables extraction of the reservoir by pulling it straight up. The service procedure requires disconnecting both the
Windshield Washer Pump electrical connector and hose followed by emptying the washer solvent into a clean vessel. Practical removal of the windshield washer pump from its reservoir follows removal of the worn-out pump to reservoir seal which must be discarded. Follow the installation steps by performing the removal operation in reverse order while avoiding electrical connection attempts and staying away from activating the washer pump until the reservoir has its required fluid. After battery disconnection and reconnection the vehicle needs time to learn its adaptive strategy through normal driving of at least 16 km (10 mi) to prevent abnormal driving symptoms.
