How to Service and Repair Coil Springs on Lincoln Aviator?

Start coil spring maintenance by first taking off the shock absorber together with its spring assembly. A proper spring compressor tool should be used to compress the spring until shock absorber tension releases. Hold the washer flats to remove the nut which should be discarded while tightening the new nut to 56 Nm (41 ft. lbs.). First unfasten the shock absorber and successively detach the washer followed by the upper shock absorber mount before extracting the coil spring. The reverse action of disassemble should be used to rebuild the suspension while the replacement nuts must include fresh shock absorber-to-upper mount parts.
