The service process starts by removing the fender shield from the right-hand front then disconnecting the electrical connector of the windshield washer pump. All safety instructions written on washer solution containers must be followed because the solution contains toxic methanol to protect from personal injury. A safe practice for fluid prevention requires emptying the windshield washer fluid before hose disconnect and pump removal. Screw the filler neck bolt of the windshield washer reservoir tightly to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) during reinstallation. After removing the fasteners of the reservoir first tighten each part to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) before reinstallation. Before operating the pumps remember to complete the reservoir with windshield washer fluid because operating them without fluid leads to premature pump failure.
