    Q:
How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on Lincoln Town Car? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service work on the suction accumulator in HVAC should start with vehicle installation on a hoist, keeping it in NEUTRAL. Recover all the refrigerant before you detach the outlet side of the suction accumulator fitting but throw away the O-ring seals. The inlet fitting should then be detached along with replacement of both O-ring seals. Separate the electrical connector of the A/C cycling switch and unscrew the three mounting bolts of the suction accumulator. When reinstalling these bolts apply 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) of torque to them. The removal procedure for the suction accumulator should be reversed for installation while also installing new O-rings and using the correct amount of clean PAG oil for refrigerant system lubrication. The conclusion includes evacuating as well as testing for leaks and charging the refrigerant system.
