Alternator

The first step to work on an alternator involves disconnecting both battery cables followed by removing the drive belt. Remove the nut from the electrical connectors before discharging the B+ cable and extracting the connector. You should take off the lower generator bolts while keeping the upper generator bolt in situ on the engine because inadequate clearance stops full disassembly. Put the generator at the back of the vehicle then pull it up from the engine area. The installation process can be completed by using the opposite steps of removal yet the upper generator bolt must be inserted before slotting all components back into place.

Serving and fixing an alternator requires you first to detach the battery cables and then remove the drive belt. First detach electrical connectors by unfastening the nut then removing the B+ cable followed by removing the connector. Proceed with removing the lower generator bolts from the engine and loosen the upper generator bolt but do not take it out since there is not enough space for complete removal. Locate the generator at the back of the vehicle before elevating it over the engine compartment. The opposite process should be used for installation by placing the upper bolt inside the generator first then completing the reassembly steps.

Remove the nut and position the bracket and wiring harness aside, then take out the upper generator mounting bolts.

Remove the upper generator mounting bolts, then the lower generator bolts, and position the generator aside.
