Battery Cable

The first step to work on 3.5L engine battery cables involves taking out the battery tray. The bolt needs removal for the body ground terminal of the battery cable after which you should place both components aside before tightening the bolt to 12 Nm (106 lb-in) during reinstallation. Move the starter solenoid terminal cover off before removing the nut from the terminal while also setting aside the battery cable starter solenoid terminal to be tightened at 12 Nm (106 lb-in) when installing it. The next step involves removing the starter motor solenoid nut followed by setting the wire terminal aside during the installation when tightening to 5 Nm (44 lb-in). Position the battery cable transaxle ground terminal aside by removing the bolt and release the locator from the engine then tighten the bolt to 10Nm (89lb-in) before reinstallation. Remove the battery cable locator from the transaxle stud bolt as well as each battery cable locator from the LH valve cover. Set the generator protective cover to the side before removing the nut from the B+ terminal connection to secure the terminal with 12 Nm (106 lb-in) torque when replacing it. Terminate the installation by first removing the battery cables then performing the removal steps in reverse order.

Position the generator protective cover aside, remove the nut, and position the generator B+ terminal aside, tightening it to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) during installation.

Remove the battery cables and reverse the removal procedure to install them.
