    Q:
How to service the battery cables on Lincoln MKZ? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service of battery cables begins by removing the battery tray followed by removing the bolt which enables positioning the battery cable body ground terminal aside while tightening this bolt to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) during reinstallation. The battery cable starter solenoid terminal should be set aside when both the terminal cover and the nut are removed securing it to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) during installation. The starter motor solenoid wire terminal requires its nut removal to position properly until tightening to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) before reinstallation. When reinstalling the battery cable transaxle ground terminal position it to the side while tightening it to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The technician should detach the battery cable locator from the transaxle stud bolt and the three battery cable locators from the LH valve cover. The generator protective cover needs to move aside as the nut is removed and the generator B+ terminal handled properly for installation with a torque of 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). To complete this process return the battery cables before installing them following the removed order.

    Q:
How to service the battery cables on Lincoln Zephyr? Posted by Customer
    A:
The battery cable servicing process begins with battery tray removal before removing the bolt along with its nut and battery hold down bracket through tightening at 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Separate the body ground terminal of the battery cable by removing its bolt before installation tightening to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Set the BJB cable terminal aside after removing the nut while tightening it to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) at installation time. After removing the starter solenoid terminal cover and its nut you should place the battery cable starter solenoid terminal to the side before tightening it to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). After releasing the battery cable locator from the engine you must remove the bolt before positioning the battery cable transaxle ground terminal in place. Reinstall the bolt at 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The battery cable location must be removed from the transaxle stud and three locations on the LH valve cover. Prior to reinstalling the generator B+ terminal you must first remove the protective cover and the nut as well as readjust the terminal position then tighten it to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The last step involves removing battery cables before performing the reverse procedure for reinstallation.
