Positive Cable

The battery cable servicing requires the removal of the engine air cleaner as the first step. Before working with the positive battery cable you must connect to a back up power supply then disconnect the battery ground cable first followed by the positive cable before waiting for one minute to avoid air bag activation and injuries. Start by taking the battery cable terminals from distributor plates and then unplug the starter motor solenoid electrical connector. The first step to disconnect the battery begins by cutting the cable tie that holds the battery cable to the battery tray. Then disconnect the ground cable from the transaxle housing and follow by detaching the positive battery cable from the engine wiring harness. Remove the cable tie at the engine wiring harness. Lift the vehicle into position before you disconnect the electrical connectors of the starter motor. Continue by lowering the car. Start by removing the shorting bar cover followed by disconnection of the positive battery cable before proceeding with removing the battery cables. Engineers should follow the opposite sequence of removal steps when installing the battery although vehicle behavior may become abnormal during this period since the vehicle needs adequate time to learn its adaptive strategy through driving longer distances.

You should first remove the engine air cleaner before starting battery cable service work. Then disconnect the battery cables from their contact points. The repair of air bag components must wait until the back up energy exhausts after disconnecting the ground cable for the battery followed by the positive cable while waiting one minute for safety. The service begins with removing the battery cable terminals from distributor plates and placing the starter solenoid electrical connector and battery cable at the battery tray before cutting the cable tie if needed. The ground cable must be separated from the transaxle housing while the positive battery cable should be detached from engine wiring harness after cable tie removal. Steam up the vehicle before you proceed with disconnecting the starter motor electrical connectors. Lower the vehicle afterward. First remove the shorting bar cover then disconnect the positive battery cable and proceed with the battery cables removal. Reverse the removal process to install the battery system keeping in mind the possibility of abnormal drive symptoms until the vehicle fully adapts its learning strategy by driving at least 16 km (10 miles).
