The servicing of the seat backrest thermo-electric device requires wearing safety glasses for protection against accidental air bag deployments together with avoiding probe connections on the air bag module. Memory saver devices should never be used in order to minimize personal injury risks. Seating procedures need careful handling which should exclude lifting through the side shield or torque tube since this can lead to damage of components. Commence the operation only after disabling the supplemental restraint system (SRS). A thorough inspection of the backrest trim panel should verify intact upper hooks and lower retainers at their bosses so any damaged lower pin-type retainers must be discarded. Installation of new backrest trim panels should occur alongside the use of fresh pin-type retainers when installing any components. An appropriate tool should be used to release the two pin-type retainers from the lower bosses before pushing forward on the top panel and sliding it downward off the upper hooks. Push forward with a downward motion on the bottom section in order to release the upper hook barbs. Remove the ventilation air upper blower assembly by first popping the trim cover J-clip then pulling the pin-type retainer until it disconnects and eliminates the electrical connector. Reverse the uninstallation sequence by facing the backrest trim panel top toward the frame at an angle then using forward pressure while raising it to hook on upper points before moving lower support points to backrest openings before advancing the bottom section to seat the retainers. Repower the SRS to finalize the service procedure.

A service of the heated seat module requires disconnecting the battery ground cable then waiting for one minute before beginning work. The service process starts with disconnecting the electrical connector from the heated seat module underneath the seat and removing the entire module. Execute the installation process by doing the reverse actions of removal. Follow the side air bag warnings about the front seat backrest as well as frame during complete breakdown and reconstruction.
