Inlet Pipe

Turn off the air suspension electrical power before repairing the exhaust pipe because unexpected air spring pressure changes may cause vehicle shifting problems during hoisting, jacking or towing operations. Before starting work on the air springs users must drain the air pressure. Start by removing the right rear wheel with its tire while installing axle support using suitable jack stands or a suitable jack. First eliminate the sway bar links by taking out their two securing nuts before disconnecting the shocks from the axle using another two nuts. The task requires removal of the right-hand lateral arm pivot nut and bolt. Vehicle owners should disconnect the height sensor bracket when their model comes with air suspension. Lower the axle and then detach the inlet pipe-to-muffler clamp through the process of unscrewing both clamp nuts and removing the clamp. Start by eliminating the insulators from the system and then proceed to remove the muffler-to-tailpipe flange bolts while unscrewing the nuts. Lastly detach the insulator to free the muffler and tailpipe. The final step for installation requires reversing the steps used for removal.

Raise and support the vehicle.
