Install the new shock absorber after you remove its upper nuts according to the shipping instructions while tightening both nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs). Start by taking out the wheel assembly followed by location of a suitable jackstand beneath the lower arm. The shock absorber maintenance process requires the removal and disposal of its lower bolt and flagnut from the device. The new shock absorber installation requires that you fasten the lower bolt to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs). The bushing fasteners need tight installation when the vehicle rests on the wheel and tires. Finish the installation by performing the reverse order of the removal process. New hardware must have the same part number and specific torque values should be followed to maintain suspension system retention and performance.
