It is essential to disconnect the battery cables first then wait one minute before you disconnect any prompts of the electronic air bag control module or supplement safety restraint electrical connectors to stop accidental air bag deployment leading to the possibility of injuries. The air bag module requires protection from safety glasses during handling but keep a live air bag beside you as you point the bag and trim cover away from your body to prevent accidental deployment injuries. Put a live air bag on its surface with the trim cover upward and afterward clean your hands with water and soap to eliminate sodium hydroxide skin irritation. A new part replacement must be carried out first; failing that the original component should be reinstalled while repeating the diagnostic test. Danger exists when you probe the air bag's connectors since this could cause them to deploy or result in personal injuries. After turning the steering wheel perform the driver air bag module removal by locating and removing retaining Torx screws from the back of the steering wheel cover and disconnect both components manually. Installation should be performed in reverse order with full attention to all safety measures. A new Engine Control System (ECS) must be installed.
