The next task involves removing the head restraints while carefully preventing damage to the hook and loop strip on the seat back foam during separation of the seat back trim cover. After unfastening the hook and loop strips users should turn the backrest trim cover inside out while extracting the three rows of hog rings. Bench seat owners need to eliminate four head restraint guides whereas 50/50 seat owners must take out two head restraint guides. You need to remove the backrest trim cover by pulling the strap that passes through it. The conclusion of this procedure requires undertaking the opposite sequence of removal actions.

Lift the backrest foam pad, pinch the head restraint guide together, and remove the two head restraint guides.
