The service process for 40 percent of the rear seat backrest cover starts by taking out the 40 percent backrest component. The technician needs to release the lower J-strip and the 4 J-clips before unstapling the side sections. Handle the process of removing backrest trim cover from hook-and-loop strip with care since it could damage the hook-and-loop strip on the backrest foam pad. You should partially detach the trim cover by separating the hook-and-loop strips then extract the first line of hog rings. Move the backrest trim cover in reverse while breaking the hook-and-loop strips apart before removing every row of hog rings that you encounter across the entire backrest. The backrest trim cover removal procedure ends with the reverse order of installation.

Release all remaining J-clips that attach the trim cover to the cushion frame.

Reconnect all electrical connectors, secure the cushion trim cover around the safety belt buckle, install the LH and RH recliner outboard covers, attach a new cushion side shield, and reinstall the front seat.
