The first step to service the Taurus X seat cover second-row backrest cover should start with removing the head restraint. The seat service begins by lowering the backrest and releasing the lower J-clip of the backrest trim cover. The outer pivot cover then can be removed together with the lower trim clip released. Unfasten both inside J-clips connecting the backrest trim cover to the hard back panel. For vehicles that have backrest heater mats the electrical connector needs disconnection while the mat passes through the backrest trim cover. Perform the separation of the seat backrest trim cover from its hook-and-loop strip with care to protect the seat backrest foam from damage. Lift up the hook-and-loop strips before flipping the backrest trim cover inside out then remove the three hog rings on the rows. Invert the backrest trim cover after letting go of the hook-and-loop strips and place it on top of the backrest. Both head restraint guides are unique so you must first lift the backrest foam pad then squeeze the tabs to take out the two guides. Perform the installation of a new backrest trim cover by following the reverse order of the removal steps.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Position the seat forward on the seat track, release the two forward trim cover J-clips, and detach the hook-and-loop strips from the underside of the cushion trim cover.

Release the lower J-clip of the backrest trim cover.
