Reservoir

Service the 3.0L engine power steering reservoir through suction operation with an appropriate tool to collect fluid from the reservoir. First detach the clamp followed by detachment of the power steering return hose from the reservoir. Always position the vehicle under a hoist in NEUTRAL mode to gain better reaching positions. The power steering supply hose attaches to the pump at the bottom of the vehicle beneath it so technicians should open the reservoir to pump clamp then disconnect the pump supply hose. Untighten the power steering pressure line bolt attached to the reservoir before placing the bracket in a safe location for future reinstallation with the proper torque value being 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.). You should remove the power steering reservoir by taking out the three nuts before slipping it out. The nuts need to be tightened to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) after installation. The technician must complete the procedure in reverse order by filling the power steering system.

Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering return hose from the reservoir.
