Fuel Pump

Prior to performing service or repairs on the fuel pump module begin with the safety measure of staying away from fuel components near open flames or smoking and wait until the engine cools down to prevent fire from leaking fuel. First disconnect the battery ground cable and release the fuel pressure through the system. Proceed by taking off the rear seat cushion assembly then disconnect the two electrical connectors from the fuel delivery module. Unscrew the four retaining screws on the surface of the fuel delivery module access cover before removing it. To disconnect the fuel line you should first remove the retaining clip. The procedure to replace the module starts with removing the retainer ring while depressing the locking tabs and finally extracting the module from its position. Installation requires performing the removal steps in reverse order while adding new fuel pump mounting gasket and fuel line clip. During this period vehicle reunderstands its adaptive strategy while relearning so abnormal drive conditions might appear until proper drive time occurs. Begin the vehicle engine operation followed by a leak inspection.
