Cruise Servo

Service or repair work on the cruise control servo requires starting with engine cover removal along with nut detachment. The speed control actuator cable must first lose its connection to the throttle lever through bolt removal followed by removing the speed control actuator cable cap with its locking tab being depressed. Disconnect the speed control actuator cable from the speed control servo pulley by gently pushing the retaining spring and removing the cable slug. Locate the electrical connector after which users should remove the speed control servo and bracket components by unfastening the nuts. You must detach the speed control servo from the bracket after unscrewing its attachment points. First install the bracket onto the speed control servo then proceed with servo installation. The speed control cable slug requires insertion into the slot on the speed control servo pulley by carefully pushing the retaining spring before completely inserting the slug. The speed control actuator cable cap tabs must be aligned with the slots in the speed control servo housing before releasing the compressed spring to validate the rubber seal's position on the cap for high idle resistance. After engaging the locking tab on the speed control actuator cable cap you should rotate it until secure. Then connect the speed control actuator cable to the throttle lever through installation of the bolt and cable snap. Put the speed control actuator cable in its desired position before securing the engine cover with the nut.

First service and repair actions for the cruise control servo require removing both the engine cover and its securing nut. The procedure begins with eliminating the bolt holding the speed control actuator cable to the throttle lever while simultaneously removing the speed control actuator cable cap after depressing its locking tab. Finally disconnect the speed control actuator cable from the speed control servo pulley by easing the retaining spring to remove the cable slug. The removal starts by disconnecting the electrical connector and proceeding to remove the speed control servo which requires you to take off all nuts on the bracket. The speed control servo needs to be detached from the bracket by unscrewing its fasteners. First place the bracket onto the speed control servo followed by mounting the speed control servo. You should place the speed control cable slug into the speed control servo pulley slot before pushing the retaining spring lightly to achieve full seat. Roll the speed control actuator cable cap tabs into the slots of the speed control servo housing before releasing its compressed spring with proper seal alignment. Set the speed control actuator cable cap at the right angle before engaging the locking tab so you can mount the cable onto the throttle lever through bolt installation. Complete the speed control actuator cable adjustment then position the engine cover before installing the necessary securing nut.
