To service the cruise control servo, unscrew the bracket and servo and disconnect the cable and electrical connector as well as remove the actuator cable cap. Installation requires the rubber grommets to be installed, the servo installed, cable connected and the cap fitted until the locking arm folds into a lock position to prevent high idle.

How to Address Issues with the Cruise Control Servo in a Lincoln Town Car?

To fix the cruise control servo, take off the engine cover and nut, pull off the speed control actuator cable and unconnect the servo. Unscrew the servo himself, and then screw it back in the same way. Make sure that there is an alignment and adjustments made and then screw the engine cover.
