Coil Spring, Front

Start the F-250 and F-350 coil spring service by disconnecting the wheel along with its tire. A proper jack should support the front axle system. The shock absorber should be detached through lower nut and washer removal while tightening this assembly to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.) before reinstalling it. Proceed to take away the spring bracket bolt and bracket before reinstalling both parts by tightening them to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). Use an extension through the spring top to remove the bottom nut where final torque must be set at 133 Nm (98 ft. lbs.) when reinstalling the spring. You should check the upper and lower insulators after removing both the spring lower retainer and spring component. Optional part replacement may become necessary. Reverse this procedure for installing the new components while making sure to maintain all necessary torque requirements for essential suspension fasteners.

Support the front axle assembly with a suitable jack.
