Throttle Cable

Service and repair of the throttle cable along with linkage starts by taking off the engine appearance cover. The procedure requires following the designated sequence for removal steps. Distancing the rubber plunger from the accelerator cable will allow the cable to detach from the rubber plunger next to the accelerator pedal. Move the rubber plunger in a rearward direction to separate the cable from the accelerator pedal. By squeezing the tabs the accelerator bracket releases the cable so you can pull the cable boot until it unlocks and remove the cable entirely. The speed control cable requires disconnecting before setting it aside. The installation requires reversing the steps used for removing the components.

The servicing process of the accelerator cable starts with removing it from the rubber plunger. First detach the cable from the accelerator pedal after pushing the rubber plunger to its rear position. The first step for service and repair of the accelerator cable requires detachment of the accelerator cable from throttle body linkage followed by removal of the accelerator cable from its bracket by squeezing the bracket tabs. To remove the accelerator cable you should first pull the boot to the UNLOCK position.
