How to service and repair the thermostat housing on 2000 Ford Contour?

In order to service and replace the thermostat housing, start by emptying the cooling system. Disconnect the thermostat hoses, and then the coolant temperature sensor and camshaft position sensor connectors. Then loosen the bolts by unscrewing and take out the thermostat housing and the coolant hose. To install, repeat these steps in reverse and fill the cooling system.
