2000 Ford F-150 Antenna Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the antenna cable on 2000 Ford F-150?
A: You can start antenna cable maintenance after taking off both wheel and tire from the front end of the vehicle. Service the antenna cable starting with removing the front wheel opening moulding by unscrewing the pin-type retainer and screws before gently pulling to free the clips. The inner fender splash shield must be removed after first unscrewing it and releasing the clips with your hands. Prior to removing the audio unit disconnect the radio antenna lead-in cable from the antenna base. Insert the radio antenna lead-in cable through the passenger compartment while disconnecting the antenna clip from the sheet metal and then feed the grommet into the compartment. Then the radio antenna lead-in cable must fully enter the passenger compartment before detachment of the three cable locators from the lower instrument panel channel and complete removal of the lead-in cable from under the instrument panel. The reverse order should be followed for reinstallation.
