- Q: How to service and repair the left-hand engine mount on 2000 Lincoln Continental?A: The left-hand engine mount service and repair procedure starts with disconnecting the battery ground cable followed by draining the engine cooling system. Open all necessary hoses then lower the vehicle below sitting height. Begin by removing the PCV valve from the valve cover together with the upper radiator sight shield from the engine compartment. Locate the mounting arm then remove the pivot shaft along with the cowl vent and the nut to gain sufficient access for moving the engine control sensor wires outside the work area. The technician should disconnect the heater water hose plus the powertrain control module and the ground wires. Place the LH engine lifting bracket on the right engine side while the RH engine lifting bracket goes to the left engine side before adding the 3-Bar Engine Support. Start by elevating the vehicle before you take off the radiator air deflector along with the oil bypass filter and bolts as well as the nut and LH engine support insulator bracket. You should install the LH engine support insulator bracket through position and bolt it with Threadlock 262 E2FZ-19554-B according to Ford specification WSK-M2G351-A6. After installing the support insulator secure the nut before applying the same Threadlock material to the bolts during installation. After lowering the vehicle and taking away the engine support and lift brackets you should place back the radiator air deflector and oil bypass filter. You should connect the ground wires along with the powertrain control module and heater water hose.
