How to service and repair a water pump on 2000 Lincoln Continental?

In order to service the water pump, drain the cooling system, take out the degas bottle, and loosen the drive belt. Disassemble the water pump pulley, generator and pump. Wipe off surfaces, replace O-ring and reassemble parts. Lastly, re-fit the drive belt, degas bottle and fill the cooling system.
