How to service the rear door handle on 2000 Mercury Mystique?

To remove the rear door handle, undo the battery ground, lift the trim panel and speaker and peel away the watershield. Squeeze the actuator rod off, then take off the handle and bezel assembly. To install it in place the process is reversed, with the handle open during re-connection of the actuator rod.
