2001 Ford Escort Air Duct Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the air duct on 2001 Ford Escort?
A: The air duct service and repair process starts with instrument panel removal. You must first remove all screws which secure the LH windshield defroster hose nozzle followed by the screws securing the RH windshield defroster hose nozzle after. Service personnel must remove the wiring harness clip from two positions: the RH A/C evaporator register duct and the heater unit. Use duct compressors to take away the A/C evaporator register duct before you can remove the screw from the RH A/C evaporator register duct. Afterward remove screws which secure both the RH A/C outlet duct, LH A/C outlet duct, RH A/C side window demister, and LH A/C side window demister. Place the square drive into the LH and RH A/C regions to detach the screws from the A/C outlet duct along with the center A/C outlet duct. Reinstall the parts in the opposite order of removal when assembling the unit.
