How to Service and Repair the Rear Crossmember on 2001 Ford Escort?

In order to fix the rear cross-member, undo the rear stabilizer bar, brake hose brackets and disconnect the hose. Take off the connector bolt and shims then the crossmember bolts. Loose the rear suspension arm and drop the cross member. Install with a High Lift Transmission Jack, taking care to be well aligned and torqued.
