To maintain the Brake Shift Interlock Actuator, take off the steering column assembly, next loosen the insert plate and shift lock actuator. The shift lock actuator clip is also not a service replacement, it is a manufacturing aid and once the insert plate is removed out of the actuator the clip is discarded. Uninstall and install again.
