How to Safely and Correctly Service the Headlight Bulb on 2001 Ford Expedition?

The bulb should be handled by holding its base only and keeping contact limited to the glass envelope. A proper timing for bulb removal from the headlamp must occur at the installation point to stop performance degradation from entering the headlamp with contaminants. It is unsafe to activate the headlamps when the bulb is not installed. Start the procedure by taking off the entire headlamp assembly. To detach the headlamp bulb retainer turn it counterclockwise while you can extract the bulb straight out by rocking it up and down gently. Follow the opposite steps of removal to install the headlamp while making sure the assembly fits correctly with pins positioned into reinforcement ribs.
