How to service and repair the hood latch on 2001 Ford Expedition?

In order to fix the hood latch, lift up the hood and detach it by unscrewing the bolts and loosening the cable. Install the new latch and tighten the bolts with fingers and close the hood. Make sure that it is correctly aligned with the fenders and then completely tightened. Apply Multi-Purpose Grease where necessary.
