How to service and repair the oil pan on 2001 Ford Explorer?

In order to fix the oil pan, lift the car and empty the engine oil. Take out the oil pan bolts and the pan and clean all the sealing surfaces. Check the gasket and change in case it is damaged. Lastly, clean oil and put it in the engine and screw the oil pan back in.
