2001 Ford Focus Battery Cable Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the battery cable on 2001 Ford Focus?
A: A proper battery cable service and repair process begins with disconnecting the battery ground cables followed by the auxiliary ground cables. The technician should proceed by cutting power to battery cables and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector followed by Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) tube. First disconnect the air cleaner from its side and next remove the ground cable before unplugging the battery cables from retaining clips. After separating the starter motor solenoid electrical connector you must disconnect the engine ground cable. I will first lift the vehicle before disconnecting its electrical starter motor connectors. To finish the procedure disconnect both battery cables followed by the generator electricity connection. Reverse all steps when reinstalling the components.
