- Q: How to service and repair the front fender on 2001 Lincoln Navigator?A: You will start front fender repair of the Navigator by disconnecting the cowl grille and jack handle and air deflector through the process of unfastening screws. Remove the headlamp (13008) first by both separating the 13N129 headlamp mounting clips and disconnecting the electrical wires. You should remove the radiator opening cover by pulling out its pin-type retainers. The procedure requires removing all LH and center and RH radiator grille opening panel reinforcement bolts before you can take out the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement to front fender bolt. The front wheel opening moulding requires the removal of its lower rear screw along with its pin-type retainer before proceeding to take off the front fender splash shield (16102) by disconnecting its screws and pin-type retainers. The front bumper cover needs to be separated from its front fender connection points together with the hidden radiator grille opening panel reinforcement nut. You can access the inner fender stuffer after putting the radiator grille opening panel slightly ahead and removing the pin-type retainer. The process closes with front fender removal (16005) and requires unscrewing front bolts as a finishing touch before reinstalling everything in reverse order.
