2002 Ford Explorer Mirror Actuator Parts Q&A

  • Q: Is the Exterior Mirror Actuator Serviceable Only on 2002 Ford Explorer?
A: The exterior mirror motor requires servicing on vehicles made after July 2001 while this service instruction shows the passenger side mirror as the driver side mirror operation is equivalent. Start by taking out the exterior mirror glass while placing the motor towards the inner portion prior to glass assembly positioning. The exterior mirror motor will be separated by removing all screws that fasten it. After screw removal place the motor safely aside. First disconnect the electrical wiring connectors before you take out the exterior mirror motor. The new motor should be installed using the opposite sequence of removal steps.
