2002 Ford F-150 Antenna Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the antenna cable on 2002 Ford F-150?
A: Service and repair operations on the antenna cable can start after removing the front wheel along with tire. The front wheel opening moulding of 4x4 vehicles requires the removal of pin-type retainers and screws so you can pull the moulding to unclip the nine clips. As the next step you should unscrew the inner fender splash shield then pull it to loosen its clips. Remove the audio unit first then disconnect the radio antenna lead-in cable from its base at the antenna. Transport the radio antenna lead-in cable to the passenger area by doing these steps: disconnect the antenna clip from the sheet metal followed by inserting the grommet into the opening then pulling the cable through. The antenna lead-in cable will be removed by disconnecting the three cable locators from the lower instrument panel channel then pulling the cable from underneath the instrument panel. The installation requires following the opposite steps previously used for removal.
