    A: The process of harmonic balancer and crankshaft pulley servicing begins with removal of the timing chain followed by wire harness disconnection with proper placement and subsequent removal of the radiator fan assembly. The service starts with removing the engine dynamic balance shaft through bolt removal which allows detachment of the balance shaft driver gear and thrust plate while separating the engine dynamic balance shaft into an assembly. When installing the engine dynamic balance shaft assembly into the cylinder block position the camshaft at 12 o'clock before alignment of the timing marks between the engine balance shaft drive gear and the engine balance shaft driven gear. When installation is perfect the timing marks on both the engine dynamic balance shaft keyway and camshaft keyway will be at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions. The correct installation requires reattaching the radiator fan and shroud assembly before connecting the connector and installing the pin-type retainer and timing chain.
