2002 Lincoln Blackwood Radiator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator on 2002 Lincoln Blackwood?
A: The radiator servicing process should start with cooling fan removal. Start by using a back up wrench to disconnect the transmission fluid cooler fittings beginning from the upper one while following it with the lower fitting. First detach the lower radiator hose and the degas bottle hose by loosening their hose clamps at the radiator fittings. Disconnect the radiator by removing its bolts along with upper radiator support brackets and jack handle and wheel nut wrench retainers before lifting it off the mounting insulators and taking out those insulators. Start radiator installation by placing the radiator mounting insulators before setting the radiator over them. Begin by reattaching all the brackets followed by handling the jack handle and wheel nut wrench retainers. Then you can proceed with installing the bolts. Begin hose connection of the lower radiator section then use an additional wrench to install transmission fluid cooler lines first applying the lower line and next the upper line. Finally, reinstall the cooling fan.
