Start the service by extracting the camshaft roller followers and then the timing chain. You should remove the camshaft sprocket together with the spacer by breaking the bolt free first. After extracting the cylinder head camshaft you need to take off 13 camshaft bearing cap bolts together with the camshaft bearing cap ladders. Before installation the camshaft journals must be lubricated with clean engine oil to place the camshaft on the cylinder head. The camshaft bearing cap ladders require clean engine oil lubrication before installing bearing caps which should have their bolts lightly tightened. The specified bolt tightening sequence follows before installing the camshaft sprocket spacer with correct placement of the sprocket and spacer ahead of the bolt installation. Install the timing chains and the roller follower as the last step.
