How to service the cruise control switch without remote audio or climate controls on 2002 Mercury Mountaineer?

One must begin service of the cruise control switch by successfully removing the driver side air bag module when remote audio and climate controls are not present. First disconnect the electrical connectors then remove screws to remove both cruise control switches. The installation process will be the same in reverse order of removal procedures.
